Police charged ‘Bama T’ with the brutal robbery and murder of a taxi operator.

Kevin Brown, also known as ‘Bams,’ ‘Bam Bam,’ and ‘Bama T,’ a 21-year-old residing at a Trinidad Road address in Kingston, has been arrested and charged by the police in connection with the fatal shooting of taxi driver Anthony Wilson, known as ‘Skippa’ and ‘Skip.’ The incident occurred on December 19, 2023.

Brown faces charges including murder, conspiracy to murder, robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.

As per the police report, Brown and an accomplice reportedly hired Wilson’s taxi through a transportation application, instructing him to pick up a female passenger from Greenwich Road, Kingston 13. When the taxi arrived at the specified location, Brown and his accomplice, armed with firearms, boarded the vehicle and directed Wilson to drive to Nanse Drive. There, they allegedly robbed him of his car and iPhone. Tragically, Brown purportedly ordered Wilson out of the vehicle, and when Wilson resisted, he was forcefully removed from the car and fatally shot.

The assailants fled the scene in Wilson’s white Nissan AD Expert motor car, later discovered on Barbados Road in Kingston. Following an investigation, Brown was arrested and subsequently charged after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Brown’s court date is pending.

Randane Gibson, also known as ‘Jason’, a 36-year-old chef from Bounty Hall in Trelawny, has been apprehended and charged by the Trelawny police. Gibson was on the Division’s ‘most wanted list’ for his alleged involvement in the attempted murder of a shopkeeper in 2019 in the Sawyers district, Trelawny.

Authorities have brought multiple charges against him, including attempted murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, use of a prohibited weapon with intent to injure, use of a firearm to commit a felony, unlawful discharge of a gun, and assault at common law.

Reports state that Gibson visited the complainant’s shop on the day of the incident, following a prior dispute, and proceeded to open fire at the woman. Subsequently, he allegedly seized her and held a firearm to her head. Despite reportedly attempting to discharge the weapon multiple times, it failed to function. Gibson then fled the scene with the firearm, and the woman promptly reported the incident to the authorities.

On January 23, 2024, Gibson, featured on the Trelawny Division’s most-wanted list, was apprehended during a police operation. His appearance in court is pending.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Area Three Highway Patrol recovered a stolen motor vehicle on the Logwood main road in St. Elizabeth. The vehicle had been reported stolen just hours earlier in Duhaney Park, St. Andrew.

A suspect was apprehended following a high-speed chase. Despite attempts to evade capture, the driver was intercepted by the Santa Cruz Quick Response Team and taken into custody.

The suspect has been charged with dangerous and reckless driving, and an investigation into the motor vehicle theft is underway. The identity of the suspect has been withheld pending further investigation.

Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto, who is responsible for St. Elizabeth, commended the law enforcement officers for their dedication and efficiency in addressing criminal activities. He emphasized that the parish will not tolerate illegal activities, and efforts will continue to ensure the safety of the community.
