Higgler got executed days after thugs slew ‘gangster’ in Lionel Town.

LIONEL TOWN, CLARENDON, Jamaica – Police in Lionel Town in Clarendon responded to a shooting in a section of the community known as Capture Land, where unknown individuals gunned down a female on Wednesday night, November 8, 2023.

Authorities identified the deceased as Sandra Dawkins, 55, a higgler of Capture Land in Lionel Town, Clarendon.

According to reports, at about 7:30 p.m., Dawkins was walking along a roadway in the community when unknown assailants attacked and shot her several times.

Residents heard the gunshots and summoned the police. Upon arrival, the officers found Dawkins’ body with multiple gunshot wounds.

Law enforcement officers transported her to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced her dead.

The police did not establish a motive for the killing.

Wednesday’s murder was the second in Lionel Town in three days. On Sunday, November 5, 2023, an alleged gangster identified as 34-year-old Kevin Mitchell, alias ‘Kugan,’ was shot dead in South Eastern Clarendon town.

There is no information to suggest that both murders are related.

Mitchell, a shop owner on Church Street in Lionel Town, was allegedly making an illegal electrical connection when armed men opened fire, hitting him in the upper parts of his body.

Police investigators theorized that rival gangsters killed him.

High school girl charged with wounding of a schoolmate.

KINGSTON WESTERN, Jamaica – Kingston Western police have charged a 16-year-old female high school student after she allegedly attacked and seriously injured a fellow student at school on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

The authorities said that at about 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the two students, aged 16 and 15, were involved in a dispute that turned physical.

During the brawl, the 16-year-old allegedly used a stone to repeatedly hit the 15-year-old victim in the head and face.

The 15-year-old sustained multiple injuries. School authorities escorted her to the sick bay, where a nurse treated her.

The school’s dean of discipline summoned the police, and a team of officers from the Denham Town police station took the child into custody and charged her with wounding.

The police stated that the student remains in custody, and her court date is pending.

Elderly farmer found dead in Clarendon.

CLARENDON, Jamaica– Residents of Reckford District in Clarendon are mourning the tragic death of ‘Joe Bell,’ whose partially decomposed body residents found with gunshot wounds Thursday Morning, November 9, 2023.

The body of a 60-year-old farmer was found at Reckford district in Clarendon Thursday morning.

The authorities identified the deceased as Joseph Bell, o/c ‘Joe Bell,’ aged 60, a late farmer of Reckford District.

Residents in the community believed ‘Joe Bell’ met his demise Sunday night, November 5, 2023, when they heard loud explosions at about 11:45 p.m.

However, the residents did not discover the body until Thursday morning after they smelled a foul odor and went to investigate.

During the search, the residents discovered Bell’s partially decomposed body and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found Bell’s body lying on its left side in a metal shed with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The officers processed the scene and removed the body to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.

They did not establish a motive for the shooting.
