The hairdresser’s murder was in reprisal for Sunday’s double murder.

The police believe the woman, Stephanie ‘Browning’ Boland, whom armed thugs shot in the head multiple times along Delamere Road in St Andrew on Monday, July 2, 2023, was a victim of a reprisal; stemming from the double murder in the Bow Tie Land community, on Sunday, July 2, 2023. 

Boland, a hairdresser, was gunned down along Delamere Road, in St Andrew, by unknown assailants as she went to pick up her three-year-old child from school. The police said Boland was related to a suspect in the double murder on Sunday. 

According to the police, on Monday, July 3, 2023, at about noon, residents in the Delamere community heard loud explosions and summoned the police. 

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found Boland suffering from gunshot wounds. The police rushed Boland to the hospital, where she died.

The police have launched a probe into the murders and increased their presence in the Bow Tie Land community.

Two shot, one fatally, along Railway Lane in St James

A known or unknown assailant shot two people, one fatally, along Railway Lane, Montego Bay, St James, Sunday night, July 2, 2023. 

The police identified the deceased as George ‘Whulla’ Henry, a renowned St James businessman and Jamaica Labour Party activist.

According to reports, on July 2, 2023, at about 8:00 pm, Henry and other persons were at his business place when a lone gunman approached him and opened fire, hitting Henry and one other person multiple times. 

Henry died on the spot, while the police rushed the injured man to the hospital for treatment.

The police could not pinpoint a motive for the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Residents found the body of a businessman hanging at his St James home.

Detectives from the Barrett Town Police Department in St James are investigating a suspected case of suicide/murder after residents found the body of a man hanging by rope at his home in Rose Hall on Sunday morning., July 2, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Christopher Edwards, age 47, of Sea Castle in Rosehall. 

The police reported that at about 7 am, Jul 02, 2023, a resident of the Sea Castle community stumbled upon Edwards’ decomposed body and summoned the police to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police found Edwards’ body hanging by a piece of rope tied around his neck and the other end suspended from an upper wall of the building.

The police processed the scene and removed the body to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
