CLARENDON, Jamaica – A disagreement over money ended with the death of a teen on Harris Street in May Pen, Clarendon, on Sunday morning, July 2, 2023
The police identified the deceased as Javoy Zachary McKenzie, o/c ‘Barco’ and ‘Dragba,’ age 18.
According to reports, at about 4:30 am, McKenzie and another 20-year-old male butted heads during a money disagreement.
The police said during the head butting and horns locking, one of the men brought a knife into play. The other party in the mele used the knife and stabbed McKenzie in the left groin.
Friends rushed McKenzie to the May Pen Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The police arrested the 20-year-old man with whom McKenzie had the dispute after family members turned him in.
The police theorized that the men were gambling when the dispute developed.

According to the Cambridge police, at about 1:30 am, a joint police-military team conducted operations in the Shortwood community. And during the process, the police seized one Glock pistol with a magazine containing three .45 cartridges and arrested two men.
However, the police withheld the identities of the men pending further investigation.
St Thomas man found chopped to death at home.
ST THOMAS, Jamaica – Detectives in St Thomas launched an investigation after family members found the body of a man with multiple chop wounds at his home in Shady Springs, White Horses, St Thomas, Sunday morning, July 2, 2023.
The police identified the deceased as Roy McLean, o/c ‘Jeroy.’
According to a media report, family members found the deceased lying on his back in his house with multiple chop wounds all over his body.
The police confirmed that the house’s back door showed signs of forced entry. And based on observation, the police theorized that the killing may have occurred Saturday afternoon, July 1, 2023.
Also, the police said unconfirmed reports suggested McLean was in the Morant Bay area of the parish about midday Saturday.
