On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the Spanish Town police announced that they had charged Daymione Shaw, o/c ‘Yarro,’ ‘Derron,’ and ‘Ramos.’ The police listed Shaw’s age as 29, a laborer from a Salt Pond Road address in St Catherine. The police charged him with murder and firearm-related charges.
The police said the charges stemmed from a fatal shooting in the Spanish Town Bus Park on May 27, 2023.
Also, the police said Shaw is a lieutenant in the Tesha Miller faction of the Clansman Gang. He was positively identified on an identification parade on Friday, May 29, 2023.
According to the police, at about 5:30 pm on May 27, 2023, the deceased, Jermaine Richards, age 26, was at the bus park when an unknown assailant brandishing a gun approached him and opened fire.
The police rushed the injured person to the hospital, where they died.
The police said Richards was a victim of a prolonged conflict between the warring Clansman gang factions over extortion money collected from bus operators at the Spanish Town Bus Park.
An unidentified man was fatally shot in Spanish Town.
On Monday night, June 5, 2023, residents of Cecil Garden, Spanish Town, St Catherine, stumbled upon the body of an unidentified person with multiple bullet wounds.
The body is of dark complexion, slim stature, and approximately 173 centimeters long. It was clad in a white T-shirt, denim pants, and black and white sneakers.
According to law enforcement detectives attached to the Spanish Town CIB, at about 10:30 pm, Monday, June 5, residents in the community heard the echoes of multiple explosions. As a result, they alerted the police.
Upon arrival, the police found a person’s body lying on its back with multiple bullet wounds to the head.
