ST JAMES, Jamaica – A British man, whom the cops busted at the Sangster International Airport for attempting to export 11 pounds of cocaine from the island, appeared in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

The accused man, Loran Bartley, a 59-year-old retired nurse from West Bromwich, England, is charged with possessing, dealing in, attempting to export, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
According to the prosecution, on May 6, 2023, at about 4:20 pm, Bartley reportedly checked in at the Sangster International Airport to board a flight destined for Birmingham, England.

Hyman also mentioned that she hoped for an indication regarding sentencing, noting that her client suffers from various medical conditions, and requested that the case be brought back before the court early.
“I will set the matter for May 19, 2023, to see where we are in terms of how we’ll proceed..in the interim, you’ll
give your fingerprints to the police, and you are remanded in custody until then,” Presiding parish Judge Sasha-Marie Smith-Ashley said before officers whisked Bartley away.
