Canine Cop uncovered crucial evidence in a Homicide investigation. On Friday, May 1, 2026, a police dog played a crucial role in a murder investigation. The case involved a woman from Catherine Hall, St. James.
The authorities identified the victim as 38-year-old Kadene Beswick, a hotel worker from Catherine Hall.
According to Area 1 Crime Officer Superintendent Jermaine Anglin, the police responded to a residence in the community at approximately 12:30 a.m
Upon arrival, they discovered Beswick’s body lying on her back with multiple stab wounds.
As a result, detectives initiated an investigation and conducted interviews with several individuals
During this process, investigators utilized various forensic tools to gather evidence from the crime scene.
Thankfully, the officers made a significant breakthrough in the case. They deployed a trained canine cop from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Canine Division.
The canine cop assisted investigators in locating critical evidence, including the weapon they believed the suspect used in the attack.
Additionally, investigators also found clothing that they have linked to the suspect.

In a heartbreaking incident on Friday night, May 1, 2025, a 29-year-old security guard, Delroy Britton—affectionately known as ‘Delly’—lost his life in Eltham Park, Spanish Town, St. Catherine. Residing on Garnet Avenue, Delroy was a cherished member of his community.
At around 9:15 p.m., reports indicate that Delroy was quietly sitting by his gate when an approaching vehicle unleashed a barrage of gunfire before speeding away. Although he was quickly transported to the hospital for treatment, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The police have been diligent in processing the scene and gathering evidence, although no clear motive for this shocking act has been established yet. This incident marks the 10th homicide in the St. Catherine North police division this year, a significant decrease from 17 during the same period last year, suggesting positive trends in community safety overall.
