St Thomas Police are searching for robbers who reportedly held up and robbed a victim of close to $1,000,000 along the Cedar Valley main road on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

According to the police, the complainant and another person were standing along the main road when a Toyota motor car pulled up, and a man descended and brandished a handgun.
The robber took a bag the complainant was carrying with $990,000 and escaped in the motor car.
The complainant made a report to the police. The police would later find the vehicle abandoned in the Albion Mountain area.
While examining the vehicle, the police said a man armed with a handgun showed up and identified himself as a policeman. However, his action raised the suspicion of his colleagues, and they arrested him on suspicion of robbery with aggravation.
The Independent Commission of Investigations was informed.
A St. Elizabeth female farmer pleads guilty to ganja charges.
Nicola Wilson, age 39, farmer of Burnt Savanna in the parish of St Elizabeth, pleaded guilty to possessing ganja and other related charges Tuesday, April 11, 2023, when she appeared in the Port Antonio Parish Court.

Wilson, and three other persons, including a 17-year-old girl, were jointly charged by the police with possessing ganja, dealing in ganja, and trafficking ganja on April 8, 2023, following a high-speed chase with the police in Port Antonio.
According to the court document, all four persons were onboard a Toyota Voxy minibus traveling along the Nuttall Main Road on April 8, 2023, that disobeyed a police signal to stop and sped away. The chase that ensued ended on Stony Hill Road, where the police found two parcels of ganja in the vehicle.
Wilson pleaded guilty to all three counts on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. For possession of ganja, the judge handed down a sentence of $15,000 or 30 days imprisonment. For dealing in ganja, 60 days or $32,000; and for trafficking ganja, she got 60 days or $38,000.
The judge stipulated that the sentences would run concurrently if Wilson did not pay fines.
Construction worker gunned down in St James.
ST JAMES, Jamaica – St James detectives have launched an investigation to determine the reasons for the fatal shooting of a construction worker in the parish on Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2023.

The police have identified the deceased as Valroe Scott of an Anchovy, St James address.
According to reports, at about 5:30 pm, on April 13, 2023, unknown assailants attacked and shot the deceased as he rode his bicycle along the Anchovy Main road.
Citizens in the community summoned the police, and upon their arrival, the police found the construction worker lying on the ground suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The police took Scott to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced him dead.
The police have not yet established a motive for the shooting.
A two-year-old baby was struck and killed by a car in St James.

ST JAMES, Jamaica – On Thursday morning, a two-year-old child died after being struck by a motor vehicle in the community of Hendon Norwood in Montego Bay, St James.
The police identified her as little Tiana Walters.
According to the police, at about 11:18 am, April 13, 2023, little Tiana Walters allegedly ran from her father’s parked motorcar towards her mom, who was across the street, and she was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The child was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The police said they had warned the driver of the vehicle for prosecution. I hope they have also warned the father of little Tiana Walters of prosecution for negligence. He left the baby unattended.
