Commissioner of Police Dr. Kevin Blake addressed the recent surge in crime, in Westmoreland. He met with students and administrators at Grange Hill High School. Police have intensified efforts, deploying Superintendent Othniel Dobson and setting up checkpoints to apprehend criminals, particularly those using motorcycles for transportation. In Montego Bay, a man was fatally shot in front of the fire station, potentially in retaliation for a previous incident. In a separate incident, a Westmoreland, delivery man was charged for stabbing his co-worker.
