Cops Charged a Married Couple With Theft $2 Million. Cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, have charged a couple in connection with the alleged theft of over $2 million. The couple allegedly stole the money from an establishment in Old Harbor, where the wife works as the branch manager.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, the woman reportedly admitted to diverting the funds to help with family-related emergencies.
Law enforcement agents have identified the accused as 32-year-old Sashell Smith-Ebanks and her husband, 42-year-old David Ebanks, a businessman. They are residents of Gardina Boulevard in Sydenham Villa, St. Catherine.
Detectives from the Old Harbor CIB have charged the couple with larceny as servants, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property.
The police stated that the couple allegedly committed the crime at a business entity. It is based in Gutters, St. Catherine, from July 14 to July 23.
Management conducted an internal audit during the same period and discovered that $2,025,000 in cash was unaccounted for from deposits.
When they confronted Smith-Ebanks, she reportedly admitted to taking the funds and giving them to her husband for family emergencies.
Management reported the matter to the cops, who arrested the couple..

The couple’s court appearance date is on September 26.
Hanover Cops charged five suspects wit robbery of a motorcycle
Also, cops in Hanover have charged five suspects. They are connected with the alleged robbery of a motorcycle in Lucea on July 16.
The accused individuals have been identified as 19-year-old Zayeshaun Donalds and Kimmarny “EJ” Bernard, as well as a 17-year-old boy (name withheld), all of whom live in Sandy Bay. The other two suspects are Kevin Jarrett, 23, also known as “Chris” and “Black Star.” The other is 18-year-old rafter Kajay “Jerry” McKogg. Both are from the Zion district.
Cops charged the suspects with robbery with aggravation and receiving stolen property.
According to the Lucea cops, around 6 p.m. on July 16, Donalds, Bernard, and the 17-year-old boy allegedly approached a man in Lucea and stole his motorcycle.
After the victim filed a report, the cops initiated an investigation. On July 23, they arrested Donalds, who later led investigators to a location in the Zion district.
While in the Zion district, cops recovered the stolen motorcycle from the home of Jarrett and McKogg. The two men were arrested and formally charged after the victim identified them and the motorcycle positively.
The cops apprehended Bernard during an operation on Saturday, July 26. The 17-year-old boy was also apprehended during this operation. Donald identified them as his accomplices.
Detectives have not yet determined a court date for the accused individuals.
