Detectives Charged Suspects with Crimes in Three Parishes. Detectives in Westmoreland, Jamaica, charged a suspect with the alleged wounding of another man in the Big Bridge community on September 23, 2023.
The authorities identified the accused as Kerick Green, also known as ‘Mega,’ 33, of Big Bridge, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland.
According to reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Green, armed with a machete, approached a man with whom he had a dispute.
After a brief conversation, Green allegedly used the machete to inflict chop wounds on the complainant before fleeing the scene.
Residents swiftly transported the injured man to the hospital for treatment.
The police launched an investigation. Green eluded them until Wednesday, July 9, 2025. On that day, the police formally charged him while he was in custody for a separate crime.
Law enforcement has scheduled Green to appear before the Savanna-la-Mar Parish Court on Tuesday, July 15th.
Detectives held ‘Bop Bop’ with an illegal gun during an early morning raid
Detectives in St. Catherine, Jamaica, charged a teenager with gun-related felonies after the alleged discovery of an illegal firearm at his home.

The authorities identified the accused. His name is Jamar Brown, o/c ‘Bop Bop,’ and he is 18 years old. He is a laborer from the Gordon Wood District in Old Harbor, St. Catherine. The police said Brown also frequents Hill Avenue in Kingston 10.
He faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
According to police reports, on Thursday, July 3, at approximately 4:45 a.m., law enforcement officers conducted a search at Brown’s residence.
During the search, they reportedly found a silver and black .38 revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition hidden under a pillow on Brown’s bed.
As a result, the police arrested and formally charged Brown. His court appearance date is pending.
Police charged ‘Six’ from Clarendon with the 2024 shooting of a Cop
Police operatives in Clarendon, Jamaica, have charged a second suspect in connection with the shooting of a police officer and another man. The alleged shooting occurred on Inverness Drive in Sandy Bay, Clarendon, on July 26, 2024.
They identified the accused as 21-year-old laborer Dantae Taylor, o/c ‘Berrita’ and ‘Six,’ 21, a laborer of Inverness Drive.
Taylor faces two counts of wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition. Detectives also charged him with using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.
According to the May Pen police report, at about 8:30 p.m. on July 26, 2024, a cop heard gunshots while attending an event in the community. He promptly responded to the scene of the shooting.
While assisting the victim, armed men engaged the cop in a firefight before fleeing.
When the shooting ceased, residents found the cop suffering from gunshot wounds.
They transported the cop and the other victim to the hospital.
The police launched an investigation and arrested Taylor’s accomplice, Kirk Messam, 27, on August 2, 2024.
They eventually apprehended Taylor on Sunday, July 6, 2025, and charged him on July 8.
Taylor’s appearance in the May Pen Parish Court is on Monday, July 14.
