The authorities have identified the accused as Kimberly Bailey-Allen, age 32, from an undisclosed St. James address in Jamaica.

Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police state that Bailey-Allen agreed to tutor a teenage girl. She agreed to a fee of $15,000 per week.

But the arrangement took a criminal turn. Bailey-Allen allegedly instructed the teen to steal $4 million from her parents’ business. This was to secure a spot for three CSEC CXC examinations.

The teen reportedly stole the money from her parents. She handed it over to Bailey-Allen in installments between April and July 3, 2025.

Eventually, the teen’s parents noticed that the money was missing and questioned the child about it. The child then disclosed the scam to her parents.

The parents reported the matter to the police, who launched an investigation that led to Bailey-Allen’s arrest. The police formally charged her on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Her court appearance is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, at the St. Ann Parish Court in Jamaica.

In Westmoreland, Jamaica, the police have charged three suspects in connection with an assault and chopping incident. It occurred in the Morass district of Hertford on June 27.

Authorities identified the accused as Jovaine Smith, also known as ‘Talz’. He is aged 27 and a businessman from Petersfield. Akeem Doeman is known as ‘Biggs’. He is aged 29 and a farmer. Shemar Bernard is known as ‘Stero’. He is aged 22 and from the Mount Stewart district.

As a result, detectives have charged the men with several offenses. These include assault at common law and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The allegations state that at approximately 8:50 a.m. on June 27, the three men arrived at the complainant’s house, where an argument ensued.

During the altercation, the accused allegedly used machetes and their hands to physically assault the complainant.

Afterward, they reportedly threw stones at the victim’s Toyota Voxy motorcar. They also threw stones at his house. The damage is estimated at around $900,000 in Jamaican currency.

The complainant retaliated and threw a stone at their vehicle, breaking the windscreen.

In response, Smith allegedly exited the vehicle, brandished a firearm, and threatened to shoot the man.

The victim then fled the scene and later filed a police report.

Smith, Doeman, and Bernard turned themselves in to the police on Tuesday, July 8. The police formally charged the accused on Friday, July 11, 2025. Their court appearance date is pending.
