Caregiver Charged After Failing To Report the Death of Her Client

Double Murder. On Saturday morning, residents of Farm District woke up to the tragic news of a double homicide in their community.

Caregiver Charged After Failing To Report the Death of Her Client. Detectives in Westmoreland, Jamaica, have begun an investigation into the suspected murder of an older citizen. A relative reportedly found the mummified remains of the older woman at her home. This was in the Old Hope district of Little London, Westmoreland. The discovery occurred on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

The authorities have identified the deceased as Viola Destin, but they have yet to confirm her age and date of birth.

Meanwhile, police have accused the woman’s live-in caregiver of hiding the body for more than a year without alerting authorities.

Investigators believe that the woman died on December 10, 2023. But her live-in caregiver, Gena Robinson, 54, did not report the death. Instead, she allegedly hid the body. She concealed it in a room at their shared residence in the Old Hope district of Little London.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, one of Destin’s relatives became suspicious. They visited the house. There, they found the body and alerted the police.

The police said the decomposed body was lying on a mattress in the home in a mummified state.

Law enforcement processed the scene and removed the body to the morgue, pending a post-mortem examination.

The police charged Robinson with failure to report the death of a person. They also charged her with preventing the lawful burial of a corpse. Additionally, the police charged her with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The police have yet to decide on a court appearance date for the caregiver.

In Other News. The debate about the rural bus system continues. No reasonable will deny that a rural bus system is a good idea. But the Jamaican people must bear in mind that the JLP stole the idea from the PNP. The Jamaica Labor has been in power for close to ten years. They never thought a rural school bus system was necessary until the PNP mentioned it. Now, they want to claim the idea as their own.
