Slickianna’s Alleged Murderer Shot Dead by The Police. The Hanover police reported that Rushawn Patterson was fatally shot by law enforcement. The police charged him with the 2022 murder of Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend. This occurred during a confrontation on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Slickianna’s alleged murderer, Rushawn Patterson, was released on bail and was awaiting his next court appearance, scheduled for October 15.
The fatal police shooting unfolded at around 5:40 a.m., during a targeted police operation at Patterson’s Dundee Pen, Hanover home on Tuesday.
Law enforcement authorities have yet to release details of the deadly police shooting.
The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) is investigating the shooting.
Investigators arrested Slickianna’s alleged murderer on November 2, 2022, during a high-level police operation. This occurred after citizens discovered Townsend’s body floating in the sea. The body was found in Reading, St James, on October 21, 2024.
The Marine police removed the body to the morgue.
A government pathologist performed a post-mortem examination on Townsend’s body on November 5, 2024. The examination determined that Townsend’s death was caused by strangulation.
Police also charged Slickianna’s alleged murderer with an assault charge he allegedly committed in St Andrew.
Detectives formally charged Patterson with Townsend’s murder on November 11.
The police also charged Slickianna’s alleged murderer with an outstanding unrelated assault case. He is alleged to have committed this in the Saint Andrew South police Division in 2018. That matter was pending before the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court.
The police stated that Townsend traveled from Kingston to Montego Bay on Thursday, October 20, 2022. While in Montego Bay, Patterson picked her up at approximately 7:30 pm. They browsed around Montego Bay. Then the couple journeyed to a restaurant in Hanover.
After leaving the restaurant, they traveled to a guest house in St James. At some time during the night, Townsend and Patterson were involved in an altercation. Patterson allegedly strangled Townsend. He then disposed of her body.
