Police reported that four years without recording a single murder in August Town, St. Andrew, Jamaica, violence has erupted again with the killings of two brothers just one week apart. Police have identified Oshane Morris, also known as Chucky, as the individual who allegedly ordered these attacks. Also, On Sunday, the police shot and killed two men during an alleged confrontation in Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine. The incident occurred when officers intercepted a vehicle believed to be carrying a person of interest in last year’s brutal quintuple murder in the Commodore district.

Hunts Bay Police responded to a mass shooting, where 3 died and five were hospitalized. The senseless tragedy occurred on Bowen’s Road near Waltham Park Road in St Andrew Saturday night. Unknown assailants reportedly shot eight people, three fatally.

The authorities have identified two of the deceased persons. Their names are Kemar Hardware, 35, a bar operator from Kingston 13, and a 19-year-old man known as ‘Stephen’ and ‘Brown Man.’

The third is a female, but the police have not established her identity.

According to reports, at about 11:40 p.m., the now deceased persons were reportedly among a group of people standing along the roadway. Two men approached the group, brandished guns, and unleashed a barrage of gunshots, hitting several persons before fleeing the scene.

Residents alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police and concerned residents assisted the wounded to the hospital, where hospital authorities pronounced three dead.

The police theorized that the shooting may have stemmed from an ongoing gang feud in the community.

The Hunts Bay CIB and other investigative bodies in the J.C.F. are probing the barbaric act.

The Spanish Town Police are probing the fatal shooting of a man who allegedly attacked a licensed firearm holder.

Dead is Winston George Garrick, 70, of Innswood in Spanish Town. 

According to reports, at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, the complainant went to the Innswood Housing in St Catherine Scheme, where he owns a house.

Upon arrival, he reportedly observed that the locks on the premises were tampered with, and one door was ajar.

Reportedly, the complainant entered the house, and Garrick attacked him. and asked him to leave the property.

The complainant reportedly explained to Garrick that he owned the house and asked Garrick to leave.

Garrick allegedly hit the 66-year-old complainant with a broom on his left hand.

Next, he allegedly brandished a knife and advanced toward the complainant. Fearing for his life, the complainant drew his licensed Glock pistol and fired, hitting Garrick.

Soon after the shooting, the complainant summoned the police to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers found Garrick suffering from a gunshot wound. They rushed him to the Spanish Town Hospital, where a member of the medical staff pronounced him dead.

The police seized and tagged the complainant’s licensed firearm for ballistic analysis. It is unclear whether the police seized the knife the complainant said Garrick had.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the shooting.
