Police Charged a Medical Doctor with Forcible Abduction and Rape

Jamaica Crime Report: A soldier from the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) is now in police custody.

Spanish Town, St. Catherine. Police Charged a Medical Doctor with Forcible Abduction and Rape of a Woman at his home on August 28, 2024.

Investigators named the accused Nigeria Solomon, o/c ‘Isaiah,’ 33, a practicing medical doctor.

Further, law enforcement said Solomon is also charged with forcible abduction and grievous sexual assault. 

The Center for Investigation of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse (CISOCA) stated that a woman allegedly visited the doctor’s office for a consultation. Sometime after the visit, she reportedly received a text message from the doctor inviting her to a birthday celebration. 

The woman accepted and attended the event. 

Complainant accused the doctor of rape and forcible abduction

According to the police, the accused allegedly took the woman to several places. At about 12:45 a.m., the complainant asked the accused to take her home.

But the doctor reportedly took the woman to his house instead, where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with her against her will. 

The woman made a report to the police, who initiated an investigation.

After two months, law enforcement arrested the accused. They later brought charges against him after a question-and-answer session. 

Nigeria Solomon’s court appearance date is pending.

Dead is Jason Gardener, 39, of Fairfield, Lincoln, Manchester.

Reports are that at about 4:40 a.m., residents heard explosions along Young Street and went to investigate.

Later, they stumbled upon Gardener along the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds. As a result, they alerted the police.

The police responded and transported the injured man to the Spanish Town Hospital, where officials certified him dead.

Investigators are putting the pieces together to prove a motive for the murder.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the incident.
