Old Harbor Police Shootout: Suspect Arrested

Break-in: Cops probe Robbery of Shotgun and $4.5 Million. Detectives from the St. Andrew North Division in Jamaica have launched an investigation into a break-in and robbery of $4.5 million. The incident occurred Sunday night, July 13, at a Fesco gas station and Western Union outlet in Rock Hall, St. Andrew.

On October 18, police in Old Harbor St Catherine arrested a suspect who was reportedly wanted for shooting at the police. The incident allegedly occurred in May Pen during an operation to recover a stolen car.

The authorities have withheld the suspect’s name pending further investigation and formal charges.

According to the police, at about 5:00 p.m., a police team was on patrol in Old Harbor. The team observed a Honda Stream motor car that fits the description of one reported stolen in May Pen, Clarendon.

The officers intercepted the vehicle along Old Harbor Road near the Nightingale Grove community, where it crashed in a ditch.

Law enforcement said occupants exited the vehicle and opened gunfire at the police.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

However, the police arrested a male occupant of the vehicle and seized one loaded Browning pistol.

The Old Harbor Criminal Investigation Branch is searching for the other culprits.

Detectives in St Elizabeth charged a customer service representative/cashier with larceny as a servant. Her employer accused her of stealing $549,438 between June and September.

Investigators identified the accused as Kadreen Campbell, 23, of Stephen Run district, Nain, St Elizabeth.

According to reports from the Black River Police, Campbell’s employer launched an internal investigation after receiving a disturbing complaint from a customer.

During the course of the audit, the businessman discovered that between June–September 2024, Campbell, an employee, stole approximately $549,438.

As a result, the complainant summoned the police, who later arrested and charged Campbell.

Her court appearance date is pending.

The St Catherine South police have launched a search for suspects who allegedly robbed a security guard of his gun. The incident reportedly unfolded on Friday, October 18, along the Bernard Lodge Main Road in Portmore.

According to reports, at about 5:36 p.m., the guard drove his 1998 Isuzu pickup truck along the Bernard Lodge main Road. The vehicle developed mechanical problems near the Clifton District.

As a result, the guard stopped to address the problem.

Then, two armed men on a motorcycle pulled up. The gunmen attacked, and robbed the guard of his firearm loaded with 18 rounds.

After which, the robbers sped off.

The Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the matter.
