Security forces fatally shot a man in Frazer’s Content, St Catherine, Thursday night, October 17. The man allegedly pointed a gun at a joint police/military patrol.
Reportedly, the police recovered a Glock pistol with a magazine containing 18 rounds of 9mm ammunition at the scene.
According to reports, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a joint police/military team was on patrol in the area.
Upon reaching Frazer’s Boulevard, the man reportedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at the officers. The team responded by firing shots in the direction of the gunman, hitting him.
The security forces team transported the injured man to the Spanish Town Hospital, where authorities pronounced him dead on arrival.
The Independent Commission of Investigations is investigating.
Police Arrested Two for Housebreaking in Clarendon.
Security forces in Clarendon arrested and charged two men for housebreaking and theft. The charges stemmed from a housebreaking and larceny incident in Hartwell Gardens, May Pen, on October 15.

Law enforcement identified the accused as construction worker Christoff Scott, o/c ‘Bredda,’ 22, and Romario Chantilou, also known as ‘Kangaroo,’ 29, both of Hazard Drive, May Pen.
The authorities charged both men with receiving stolen property, housebreaking, and theft.
A Police report indicated that the men were arrested during an operation. Law enforcement officers targeted and stopped a Nissan AD wagon driven by Chantilou, with Scott as a passenger.
The security forces searched the vehicle and found a refrigerator valued at approximately $246,000.
After checking, the police discovered that the refrigerator’s identifying marks were similar to those on a fridge reported stolen between August 30 and October 14.
Detectives from the May Pen Criminal Investigations Branch formally charged both men. Their court appearance date is pending.
US Vet Fined $1M for Gun security forces found in his Luggage at Sangster Airport.
ST JAMES, Jamaica – US veterinarian Clint Martin, who securities forces arrested and charged after a magazine with 12 rounds of ammunition was found in his luggage at the Sangster International Airport in St James, pleaded guilty to the charges on Thursday.

After Martin’s lawyer, Charles’ Advoket’ Ganga-Singh, made an impassioned plea for the most lenient sentence. The Court obliged and fined Martin J$1 million.
These are the breakdowns: $500,000 or six months imprisonment for unauthorized firearm possession. And $500,000 or six months imprisonment for unauthorized possession of ammunition.
The authorities transferred the case from the Western Regional Gun Court to the St James Parish Court on Thursday, where Martin pleaded guilty.
Martin, 38, is from Tennessee. The security forces arrested and charged him on October 3. This was after security officers found a gun and ammo in his luggage at the Sangster Airport.
Martin departed the island on Thursday after paying the fines.
