WESTMORELAND, Jamaica: According to reports, a lone gunman shot three teenagers, two fatally, in the Top Lincoln community in Grange Hill Wednesday afternoon.

The authorities named the deceased Ramesh O’Connor, 18, and 15-year-old Jael-Jay Tomlinson, both residents of Westmoreland.

The injured teen, who is 18, remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Reportedly, the tragic shooting unfolded at about 3:00 p.m. The victims were among four people, including a female, traveling on two motorcycles from Hanover on their way to Westmoreland.

The group reportedly stopped at a nightclub to shelter from the heavy downpour of rain.

While at the nightclub, a lone gunman targeted the three men and opened gunfire, hitting them.

The police responded and transported the victims to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced O’Connor and Tomlinson dead and admitted the third victim.

The female miraculously escaped unhurt.

The police are yet to prove a motive for the shooting.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the fatal shooting of a suspect by the police during a confrontation Wednesday night. The police said the tragic incident occurred along the Port Henderson Road, a busy thoroughfare near Lakes Pen, in St Catherine.

The authorities have yet to ID the deceased.

At about 7:15 p.m., police personnel were on patrol along Port Henderson Road. Upon reaching a section of the road near a bar, the cops saw a group of men and accosted them.

As the patrol got closer, one man reportedly brandished a handgun and started firing shots at the police.

The officers returned the fire, and the men scampered away in different directions.

When the shooting stopped, the police found the unidentified man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The cops, in a further show of their professionalism, recovered an AG-9 9mm pistol from the wounded man, providing evidence that the police were justified in their actions, and transported him to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Independent Commission of Investigations has promptly launched an investigation into the incident, ensuring transparency and accountability in this matter.

Range Rover Driver Indicted for Fatal Manchester Crash: Latest Developments

The police said they have indicted the driver of the Range Rover motor vehicle involved in Monday’s fatal crash along the Sedburgh main road in Manchester.

The authorities identified the accused as Chadwick Young, 31, a music producer and coolant manufacturer, from Main Street in Christiana.

The police have charged Young with serious offenses, including causing death by dangerous driving, disobeying the continuous white line, and leaving the scene of an accident, underlining the severity of the situation.

Young will face the court on September 25, 2024, the police reported.

Reports show that at about 7 a.m., the woman was driving a Honda Fit motorcar with her son as a passenger along the Sedburgh main road.

A Ranger Rover motor vehicle traveling in the opposite direction overtook a line of traffic and collided with the Honda Fit.

The policewoman and her 10-year-old son sustained multiple injuries.

Passersby transported them to the Percy Junior Hospital, where the authorities pronounced the boy dead and admitted his mother in critical condition.

The mom’s family has shared with the media that her condition has improved and is now stable.
