The police confirmed that a male student of Christiana Leased Primary and Infant School succumbed to injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle collision on the Sedburgh main road in Manchester on Monday morning, September 2, 2024.
The authorities said the name of the deceased child is Traevon Sanchez, age 10.
The tragic accident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. The boy was a passenger in a Honda Fit motorcar driven by his mother, a police constable.

As the vehicle traveled along the Sedburgh Main Road, towards Spalding, a Ranger Rover traveling in the opposite direction, allegedly overtook a line of traffic and collided with the Honda Fit.
The child reportedly died on the spot, and officials at the Percy Junor Hospital admitted the mother in critical condition.
In the meantime, the Jamaica Police Federation has urgently requested blood donations for Constable Cobrina Crawford.

Also, Transport Minister Daryl Vaz expressed sadness that we lost one student in a traffic accident on the first day of school.
The police said the 31-year-old driver of the Range Rover who allegedly fled the accident scene, surrendered to the police Monday night.
Woman Sexually Assaulted in SilverSun Estate; Suspect Charged with Rape.
Police charged a suspect with rape after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at her home in SilverSun Estate in St Catherine on August 13.

The police named the suspect Raheem Robinson, o/c ‘Ryan,’ 30, of Hampton Crescent, SilverSun Estate.
According to the Spanish Town police, the woman was in her backyard on the day of the incident.
Robinson reportedly entered the yard uninvited and forced her inside the house, where he sexually assaulted her.
The victim filed a report with the police. The police launched an investigation and later arrested and charged Robinson.
Robinson will be before the St Catherine parish court on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
