Detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse launched a probe into the alleged raping of a 15-year-old female student from the United Kingdom on August 29, 2024.
The authorities withheld the accused identity but said he is a 17-year-old male student from Ontario, Canada.
According to reports, the female and her parents checked into a North Coast resort in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, on August 17.
The teen reportedly met the 17-year-old boy at the poolside sometime after.
On Thursday, while at the hotel, the two teens linked up again, and the boy accompanied the girl to her room. While there, the boy requested sex.
The female child reportedly denied the boy’s demand, but he insisted.
The boy reportedly held the female down and had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
The child’s parents reported the matter to hotel security, who called in the police.
The police took the teen to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, where the medical staff examined.
Later, the police placed the boy into custody pending an interview.

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica–The St Catherine North PD is on the hunt for a suspect who allegedly brandished a firearm at a cop while tending to his farm in Kitson Town.
The authorities confirmed the incident and stated that it occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
The authorities said the officer was at the farm when a Honda Fit motorcar drove up. A man, reportedly armed with a gun, exited the vehicle and entered the property.
The culprit allegedly pointed the gun at the officer who is a corporal.
The cop took evasive action and discharged his service revolver several times.
The man reportedly scampered back to the car and sped away.
The police responded swiftly and pursued the vehicle, demonstrating their commitment to apprehending the suspect, but it managed to elude them.
The Police High Command and the Independent Commission of Investigations are investigating the matter.
