Cops Charged Man Who Allegedly Assaulted a Constable. Police officers from the Barnett Street PD in Montego Bay, Jamaica, have charged a man with assault. According to the police, the accused assaulted an officer while the officer was issuing a traffic ticket to a motorist. This incident took place on Church Street in Montego Bay on July 16, 2025.
The accused, Dwayne Codner, is a 26-year-old construction worker from the Pitfour community in St. James, Jamaica. The cops charged him with assaulting a police constable, obstructing the police, and resisting arrest.
According to reports from the Barnett Street police, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. Codner allegedly pushed a police constable multiple times in an attempt to prevent the officer from issuing a ticket to a motorist for a traffic violation.
When the constable tried to arrest Codner, he resisted and refused to allow himself to be handcuffed. Other officers on duty stepped in to help with his arrest.
The cops arrested and charged Codner at the scene. His court date is pending.
Cops charged a Portland man with wounding after a bar fight.
Cops assigned to the Portland Police Division have charged a man from the Mill Bank District with wounding. The charge stemmed from an altercation at a community bar on June 27, 2025.
The authorities identified the accused as Ramon Moore, 30 years old.
The Port Antonio police reported that around 11:35 a.m., Moore was at a community bar when an argument broke out between him and another man.
During the altercation, Moore reportedly used a knife to inflict a stab wound to the complainant’s head before escaping.
Law enforcement responded and transported the injured man to the hospital, where the authorities treated and admitted him.
The cops later arrested and charged Moore. His court appearance date is pending.
