A decorator tragically lost his life on the night of Wednesday, July 24, 2024, along Delamere Avenue, St Andrew. Authorities are investigating whether this incident could be connected to the earlier acid attack at the Pavillion Mall in Half-Way-Tree.
The victim, identified as 43-year-old Mohan Grant, was fatally shot while riding his motorcycle along Delamere Avenue. The assailants, traveling in a black car, opened fire on Grant, ending his life on the scene.
Earlier that same day, two women fell victim to an acid attack at the Pavillion Mall. The perpetrators, arriving on a motorcycle, targeted the women on the second floor, dousing them with a corrosive substance before fleeing the scene. One of the victims, reportedly the intended target, remains hospitalized in serious condition, having sustained severe burns from the attack.
Senior police sources have speculated that Grant may have been targeted due to a family member’s suspected involvement in the acid attack. Authorities are actively pursuing all leads and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Data Collector Tyreeke Campbell Charged with 2019 St. Catherine Murder.
Tyreeke Campbell, a 24-year-old data collector also known as ‘Baller,’ has been indicted for the 2019 fatal shooting of Shamar Smith on St. John’s Road, St. Catherine.

Campbell faces charges of murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The police report that on April 1, 2019, Mr. Smith, nicknamed ‘Shamie,’ and another individual were at his residence when Campbell, along with his accomplices, allegedly began shooting, striking both men.
Mr. Smith succumbed to his injuries.
After being named a person of interest and following an investigation, Mr. Campbell turned himself in to the authorities, accompanied by his lawyer.
On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the police officially charged Campbell. The date for his court appearance has yet to be determined.
Police Search for Armed Suspects Who Shot Bartender in Portmore, St Catherine
According to reports, the 39-year-old bartender was working along Queens Drive in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine, when two men, posing as customers, entered the bar.
After ordering items and inquiring about a man, they brandished guns and opened fire, injuring the bartender on her hands and legs.

The disclosure comes in the wake of two separate fatal shooting incidents in St. Catherine and Hanover on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Authorities have identified the deceased individuals as 23-year-old Mark Lewis and 23-year-old Jermaine Campbell.
INDECOM indicates that the police had engaged in a planned joint operation with the military in the African area of Old Harbour, St. Catherine. During the operation, officers approached a residence on Burke Road.
Upon entering the house, Lewis reportedly brandished a firearm at the officers, prompting them to fire, resulting in his later pronounced death at the hospital.
The second fatal shooting transpired in the Kendal district, Green Island, Hanover. According to reports, a surveillance team observed Campbell exhibiting suspicious behavior. Allegedly, Campbell fired at the police team, prompting them to return fire, resulting in his later pronounced death at the hospital.
The police have stated that they confiscated a .45 caliber pistol and a browning 9mm pistol following both shooting incidents.
