St. Catherine, Jamaica — A man from St. Andrew, accused by the police of shooting four individuals at a shop in Waterford, Portmore in 2019, is now facing charges related to murder and gun possession.
The accused, identified as 28-year-old Sean Hamilton, also known as ‘Too Bad’, and a laborer residing on Fagan Avenue, Grants Pen, Kingston 8, has been formally charged by the authorities. Hamilton stands accused of the murder of 18-year-old Alexander Walker, also known as ‘Max’, a laborer from the Grandville Road community in St. Andrew.
In addition to the murder charge, Hamilton faces accusations of wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
Reports indicate that on Monday, June 3, 2019, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Walker and three other individuals, including a woman, were present at a shop in the community. Hamilton and another man reportedly entered the premises, brandishing firearms, and proceeded to open fire, injuring all four individuals before making their escape.
Following the incident, the police arrived at the scene and promptly transported the victims to the hospital. Tragically, Walker succumbed to his injuries, while the others were admitted for medical treatment.
A thorough investigation by the police led to the arrest of Hamilton, who was subsequently charged after a session involving questioning in the presence of his legal representation. Hamilton’s scheduled court appearance is pending as the police continue their search for his accomplice.

A 22-year-old individual from St Ann, who reportedly assaulted a police officer with a machete, was shot on the morning of Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Around 7:30 a.m., a police team responded to reports of a man making threats on Knibbs Street in Watt Town, Gibraltar. The team cautioned the individual against carrying out the alleged threat.

Reportedly, the individual became aggressive and confronted the police with a machete, leading to the use of lethal force. Following the altercation, the individual received medical assistance.
The Brown’s Town Criminal Investigation Branch is currently investigating the incident, and the Independent Commission of Investigations is also conducting an inquiry into the matter.
Policeman Injured in Accidental Shooting.
A police officer from the Ocho Rios Police Station in St. Ann is currently recovering from a bullet wound sustained in an unfortunate incident at his home in Boscobel, St. Mary. The officer, a sergeant, was getting ready for work when his service pistol accidentally discharged, resulting in a gunshot wound to his leg. He was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility and later transferred to another for ongoing treatment. Thankfully, his injury is not life-threatening.
Residents Stage Protest Due to Lack of Electricity, Blocking Junction Main Road in St Catherine.
The Junction main road in St Mary is blocked because residents are frustrated about not having electricity after Hurricane Beryl. They are asking the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) to restore the power. The Member of Parliament for Southeast St Mary, Dr Norman Dunn, is also urging JPS to act quickly.
