A shocking incident occurred in St Andrew on the morning of July 21, 2024, as sound system operator ‘Mafia’, also known as Gavin Woolcock, was ambushed and fatally shot by unknown assailants. Woolcock, a 33-year-old selector for the renowned Xfactor sound system, was a resident of the area.
According to reports, Woolcock had just completed a gig at the 4/20 nightclub and was leaving the venue with his girlfriend when the attack took place. While waiting at a stoplight near the Manor Center Plaza on Constant Spring Road, Woolcock was subjected to heavy gunfire, resulting in fatal injuries to his neck and upper body.
Despite the swift response from the police, Woolcock succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital. At the scene, law enforcement recovered three spent shell casings, indicating the intensity of the attack.
At present, the police have yet to discern a motive for this senseless act of violence, leaving the community and authorities in shock and seeking answers.

According to police reports, the harrowing incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when the assailant entered the establishment, approached Rowe, and mercilessly fired multiple shots, fatally wounding him before fleeing on foot into the community. Despite the efforts of Good Samaritans to rush Rowe to Annotto Bay Hospital, he was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
Thankfully, no other individuals sustained injuries during the ordeal. Upon processing the scene, law enforcement recovered eight 9mm spent casings and one expended bullet, yet a motive for the ruthless shooting remains elusive as the investigation continues.
