Clarendon man allegedly chops cousin to death.
A tragic incident occurred in Clarks Town, Clarendon, resulting in the arrest and charging of 60-year-old Roy Rose, also known as ‘Mafia.’ He is accused of fatally attacking his cousin at his residence on Monday, February 19, 2024.
The victim, 59-year-old William Jenkins, hailing from Sherwood district, Clarks Town, Trelawny, succumbed to the brutal attack.
Reports indicate that at approximately 2:00 a.m., Rose entered Jenkins’ room and mercilessly assaulted him with a machete, causing severe head injuries.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered Jenkins lying in a pool of blood on a bed. Despite their efforts to save him, Jenkins was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Rose later turned himself into the authorities and has since been charged with murder. The date for his court appearance is pending. This is a distressing and tragic event that has deeply affected the community.
Naggo Head residents hand over murder accused to the police.
Residents of Naggo Head in Portmore, St Catherine responded swiftly last Tuesday, apprehending a man accused of murder as he attempted to flee the area.
Authorities have identified the accused as Deangelo Creighton, a 33-year-old painter from Savannah District in Linstead, St Catherine.
According to the Bridgeport police, at approximately 5:45 p.m. on February 13, 2024, Creighton, armed with a handgun, approached 30-year-old Patrick Matthews and engaged in a brief conversation. Shortly after, gunshots rang out, and Matthews was found with gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen.
Despite the efforts of citizens to transport him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Community members apprehended Creighton as he attempted to flee the area and turned him over to the police.
On February 19, 2024, the police charged Creighton with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony. His court date is pending.
Timoy ‘Big Head’ Brown Charged for Withholding Information in 2023 Murder Case.
Timoy ‘Big Head’ Brown has been charged by the police in Trelawny after confessing to withholding information regarding the August 2023 murder of a 15-year-old girl. Brown faces charges of misprision of a felony.
The tragic incident took place on August 6, 2023, around 1:00 a.m., when assailants entered the home of 15-year-old Jamalia Cole, her mother, and two other relatives. During the attack, three of the four occupants sustained injuries, resulting in the unfortunate death of Cole. Her mother and another teen were also hospitalized, while an eight-year-old managed to escape unharmed.
Following thorough investigations, the police acted on information that led to the apprehension of Brown on Monday, February 12. Upon his apprehension, Brown admitted to possessing knowledge about the murder, leading to his formal charges on Monday, February 19, 2024. His court date is now pending.
St Ann barber is charged in $5m Christmas Day robbery
A community barber from Claremont, St Ann, has been arrested and charged by the police in connection with the theft of over $5 million from a shop on Christmas Day.
The accused, identified as Arland Pennant, 43 years old, was charged with shopbreaking and larceny by the authorities.
Reports from the Brown’s Town police indicate that at approximately 8:00 p.m. on December 25, 2023, Pennant and several other individuals removed a section of the grill and gained entry to a shop on Top Road, Brown’s Town.
It was further revealed that the stolen items were valued at $550,000, and the stolen safe contained $5,021,000 in cash.
Following identification on the shop’s CCTV system, Pennant was apprehended by the Portland Police and subsequently transferred to the St. Ann authorities.
He is set to appear before the St. Ann Parish Court on Friday, April 5.
Accused woman denies knowledge of contraband in food.
Corrina Clarke, the woman from Corporate Area, has been accused of attempting to smuggle contraband into the lock-up at the Constant Spring Police Station.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court and was remanded in custody. Despite being pregnant, Clarke pleaded not guilty to introducing prohibited items into lock-ups and unlawful possession of property.
In her defense, she claimed that she was asked to deliver the food to a prisoner and that her boyfriend was not the intended recipient. According to Clarke, she did not even know the person who asked her to transport the food.
Clarke, who is the common-law spouse of murder accused Ojo Russell, visited the police station with a meal for a prisoner. However, during a routine inspection of the food and its container, the police discovered a second container glued to the one with the food. Inside the second container, the police found two cell phones, tobacco, Rizzla paper, and vegetable matter resembling ganja.
Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque ordered Clarke to be remanded in custody until March 5.

Two men have been arrested by the Trelawny police after a firearm and ammunition were seized in the parish on Tuesday.
The police reported that a Sig Sauer nine-millimeter pistol with a magazine containing five rounds of ammunition was confiscated in Pond Side, Wakefield, in Trelawny. The Falmouth police stated that around 5:45 a.m., security forces conducted an operation in the area, leading to the discovery of the firearm in a yard during a search. Subsequently, two individuals found on the premises were apprehended and taken into custody pending further investigation.
