Tragedy Strikes as Jerk Chicken Vendor Gun Downed at Home.

On the night of Saturday, January 20, 24, authorities were alerted to a disturbing scene at a residence along Old Harbor Road in St. Catherine. An unidentified assailant had fatally shot a jerk chicken vendor in his own home.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Richard Roach. Witnesses revealed that the harrowing event took place around 9:00 p.m. when neighbors heard gunshots emanating from Roach’s residence.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Roach was discovered lying lifeless in a pool of blood, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his head. Despite swift efforts to transport him to the hospital, Roach was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The authorities remain baffled as the motive behind this heinous act eludes them.

An investigation has been launched by the Annotto Bay Police following the tragic murder of a 34-year-old female security guard, Jody Buchanan, in her home in Broadgate, St Mary.

The incident occurred on January 20, 2024, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Reports indicate that Buchanan was alone at home when an unidentified assailant, wearing a mask, entered through a backdoor and proceeded to fatally shoot her before fleeing the scene.

Upon police arrival, Buchanan was discovered in her bedroom, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. As of now, no motive has been determined for this violent attack.

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – Two men were apprehended by law enforcement in Santa Cruz after a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing three 9mm cartridges was discovered during a police operation along Institution Drive on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

The names of the suspects have been withheld as the authorities proceed with further investigations.

According to the police report, at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, a team of law enforcement officers was engaged in a vehicular checkpoint operation in the area. The driver of a Honda Civic with two men aboard was signaled to stop, and upon compliance, a search revealed the loaded weapon in the possession of one of the men.

The weapon was confiscated, and the men were taken into custody. Charges are expected to be filed following the completion of the investigation.

Detectives in Lucea, Hanover, have brought charges against a suspect for multiple violations of the Firearms Act in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in the Brissett District on October 29, 2023.

The individual in question has been identified as 26-year-old Stefan Blake, also known as ‘Braff,’ a laborer residing in the McQuarrie District in Hopewell, Hanover.

Blake has been formally charged with wounding with intent, shooting with intent, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

According to the Lucea Police, the incident took place around 9:05 p.m. when a man was driving his vehicle along a road in the Brissett District. A white Toyota Axio pulled up beside him, and the accused opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Following the shooting, the victim was discovered with gunshot wounds and was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention by local residents.

After an extensive investigation, the authorities apprehended Blake on January 19, 2024. Subsequently, he was charged after a formal interrogation in the presence of legal counsel.

Blake’s appearance in court is pending and the legal proceedings will continue accordingly.
