Double Murder Investigation Underway in St. James
The authorities in St. James have launched an investigation into a tragic double murder that occurred on Friday night, January 12, 2024, along the Tucker Main Road. The victims, identified as Jerome Evans (32) and Jerome Longman (37), were both residents of Retirement in St. James.

According to reports from Observer Online, the incident took place around 10:15 p.m., prompting residents to contact law enforcement after hearing multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, the police discovered Evans’ body beside a motorbike, with fatal gunshot wounds to the head and upper section. Further investigation led to the discovery of Longman’s body in nearby bushes, also suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were swiftly transported to the hospital, where they were tragically pronounced dead. The scene of the crime revealed twenty-four 9mm spent casings, indicating the severity of the attack.
As the investigation progresses, the authorities have yet to establish a motive for this heinous crime.

PORTLAND, Jamaica—The White River community in Buff Bay, Portland, was plunged into mourning on Friday night, January 12, 2024, after a lone assailant fatally shot a beloved barber while he was tending to a client at his barbershop. The deceased, Tysen Delarno Bowen, 44, was a prominent member of the White River community.

According to an Observer Online report, the tragic incident took place at approximately 7:50 p.m. as Bowen was cutting a client’s hair. The shooter entered the premises and opened fire, striking Bowen multiple times in the neck before fleeing on foot.
Law enforcement responded promptly, rushing the injured man to the hospital in Annotto Bay, St. Mary, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.
A police manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrator, with the motive behind the shooting remaining unknown.
Man charged for allegedly stabbing good samaritan in Westmoreland.
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— On Friday, January 12, the police formally charged the suspect accused of stabbing a good Samaritan who had intervened after seeing the suspect holding his elderly neighbor hostage with a knife in Alma district in Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

Odain McDonald, 32, of Alma District, was charged with wounding with intent.
McDonald allegedly brutally stabbed a 58-year-old farmer who had confronted him after witnessing him holding his neighbor at knifepoint.
The distressing incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024. The complainant heard his neighbor’s desperate cries for help and rushed to assist, only to find the accused holding a knife to the woman’s neck.
The farmer bravely attempted to rescue the senior citizen from danger, but the accused turned his aggression towards him, allegedly stabbing him multiple times, including in the neck.
Quick action from residents was essential to saving the victim. They promptly rushed him to the hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The injured man remains hospitalized.
Following an investigation, the authorities arrested and charged the accused. His court date is pending.
