The injured child has been discharged from the hospital, but she continues to suffer from memory loss and walks with a limp.

The Superintendent of Police in the Clarendon Division has stated that an investigation is underway to ensure those responsible for this deplorable incident will face charges. The suspects have shown no signs of remorse for their actions, as noted by the Superintendent.

Authorities are expected to press charges against the women in the near future.

The police to crack down on motorists who use cell phones while driving.

The Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) has announced its plans to intensify enforcement against individuals using their cell phones while driving.

Sergeant Desmore Dawkins, speaking on Radio Jamaica’s Traffic Report, emphasized the zero-tolerance stance the police will adopt towards motorists texting or holding their phones while on the road.

According to Sergeant Dawkins, this behavior has been a significant factor in numerous road crashes. Last year, over 10,000 tickets were issued for violations of this provision of the Road Traffic Act.

Furthermore, the sergeant cautioned that there will be “repercussions” for drivers who use devices to view motion images while driving. Approximately 4,000 tickets were issued for this offense last year.

Regarding cell phone use, motorists were reminded by the sergeant to pull over if they urgently needed to make or receive a call. Additionally, he highlighted that simply holding or touching the device constitutes using it, thus making motorists liable for charges.
