‘Venom’ among two shot and killed downtown Kingston Sunday morning

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to a tragic incident that unfolded on the morning of Sunday, November 26, 2023. Beckford Street in downtown Kingston became the scene of a chilling shooting.

In this harrowing event, two lives were tragically cut short, leaving a deep void in the hearts of their loved ones and the entire community. One of the victims was a renowned entertainer known amongst his fans and peers as “Venom.”

The authorities identified the entertainer as Christopher Palmer, also known as “Venom,” aged 34, residing at an address on Orange Street in Kingston.

The police named the other two men 42-year-old Kirk Palmer, also known as “Chucky,” a higgler from Chancery Lane in Kingston. The name of the wounded man was withheld by the police.

According to reports, at around 1:15 a.m., “Venom” and Kirk were at a location where Kirk’s common-law wife operated a clothing stall and hangout spot.

The police stated that a group of armed men traveling on foot approached the men and opened fire, hitting all three of them.

‘Venom’ was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kirk was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The injured man stated that he was returning from work when he heard gunshots and started running. It was later discovered that he had been shot in the right lower arm. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The police have not established a motive for the attack.
