JDF launched a probe to verify clothing used in the Linstead robbery.

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) takes the recent viral video showing individuals wearing uniforms resembling theirs during a robbery in Linstead, St Catherine, on Saturday, November 25, 2023, very seriously. Such actions not only undermine the integrity and professionalism of the JDF but also tarnish its reputation as a symbol of protection and service to the Jamaican people.

The JDF is currently conducting a thorough investigation to identify the individuals involved in the incident and to determine the authenticity of the uniforms they were wearing. It is essential to ascertain whether these uniforms were counterfeit imitations or illegally obtained JDF uniforms.

Moreover, the JDF will collaborate with the relevant authorities, such as the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the robbery and the unauthorized use of military apparel. This partnership is vital to ensure that justice is served and to deter any future instances of individuals impersonating members of the JDF.

The JDF urged anyone with information about the incident to call its tip line at 876-837-8888.

“You do not have to give your name or any personal details to make a report. The JDF reaffirms its commitment to maintaining law and order and safeguarding all our citizens,” it said.
