The St. Elizabeth police charged the trigger man in the love triangle murder in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, on September 30, 2023.
The Police charged Robert Russell, age 45, businessman and licensed firearm holder of Olive Park in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth with the murder of Orlando Blake, age 35, a late J.P.S. contractor.
The authorities said at about 10:20 p.m., on September 30, 2023, Russell visited a woman with whom he shares a child, and they retired to bed.
Sometime after, Blake reportedly went to the house to visit the woman.
He entered the house, and Russell opened gunfire, killing him on the spot.
The Police responded to the scene, apprehended Russell, and seized his firearm.
Meanwhile, hospital authorities formally pronounced Blake dead.
The Police charged Russell on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
His court date is pending.
Police charged a Spanish Town funeral home director with fraud.
Spanish Town detectives charged a suspect with fraud after he allegedly collected $200,000 as a fee from the mother of a man in police custody and promised to have the man released.
The authorities charged David Thomas, o/c ‘Bright Lite,’ a funeral home director and resident of Spanish Town, St. Catherine, with obtaining money by false pretense, attempting to pervert the course of justice, and conspiracy to defraud.
According to reports, a woman whose son was in custody received a telephone call from a man claiming to be a policeman.
The man reportedly told the woman he could get her son released from jail if she paid him $200,000.
The woman reportedly met with Thomas, where she handed over $160,000.
According to the Police, somebody contacted the complainant and told her the money was short.
The complainant met with Thomas again and handed him the remaining $40,000.
When her son was not released, the complainant reported to the Police.
While the complainant was at the police station making the report, she received another telephone call from a man requesting $200,000 for her son’s release, stating that he had yet to receive the first $200,000 payment.
The Police launched an investigation and apprehended Thomas during a targeted operation.
The authorities subsequently charged Thomas. His court date is pending.
