Beryllium guards surprised gunmen in an attempted robbery in Harbour View.

On Tuesday afternoon, October 10, gunmen attacked Beryllium security guards in Harbour View, St Andrew, for the umteen time in an attempted robbery. But this time, the guards pushed back the robbers, and they scampered away empty-handed.

According to the authorities, one guard received minor injuries. 

The robbers fled the scene empty-handed and reportedly changed cars.

The Police are investigating the case.

PNP severed relationship with Tyrone Guthrie over abduction and rape allegations.

The People’s National Party (PNP) severed its relationship with Tyrone Guthrie over allegations that he abducted and raped a teen girl. Guthrie was a prospective candidate in the upcoming Local Government Elections for the Friendship Division in Westmoreland. 

The PNP says the allegations are deeply “troubling and unacceptable” and moved to relieve him of his provisional title as soon as the party was made aware.

Guthrie was charged after surrendering to the Police as part of an investigation into the alleged rape and abduction of a 16-year-old girl.

The party commended the Police for their swift action in the matter.

“Justice must be served, and due process must be followed to ensure a fair and thorough investigation,” said the PNP.

“Our party stands firmly against any form of violence or sexual abuse and will closely monitor the developments of this case to ensure justice is served,” it added.

One of Westmoreland’s Most Wanted turned himself in for murder.

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— A Westmoreland suspect accused of gunning down a Cornwall District resident on Thursday, August 10, 2023, has turned himself in after the Police added his name to the Westmoreland’s most wanted list.

On Monday, October 9, 2023, the authorities charged Neiko Findlay, o/c ‘Mattic,’ age 26, of Dean’s Lane in Montego Bay, St. James and Hertford District in Petersfield, Westmoreland, with the murder of 21-year-old Renaldo Moore, otherwise called ‘Chin’, a furniture maker of Cornwall district, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

According to the Police report, at about 8:00 p.m., Moore was among a group of people standing along the roadway when Findlay approached him and opened fire.

Moore ran, but Findlay reportedly chased and shot him multiple times.

Hospital authorities pronounced More dead on arrival.

The Police launched an investigation and listed Findlay as one of Westmoreland’s Most Wanted. 

On October 9, 2023, Findlay, accompanied by an attorney, turned himself over to the Savanna-La-Mar Police.

His court appearance date is pending.

Police charged a 17-year-old teen with wounding in Westmoreland. 

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica— Police in Westmoreland charged a 17-year-old boy after allegedly stabbing and injuring a man during a dispute in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, on October 3, 2023.

According to the authorities at the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station, at about 10:30 a.m., a man stood beside his motorcycle along the Grange Hill roadway. 

The teen approached him, and an argument developed between them. During the altercation, the teen used a knife and inflicted several wounds on the man’s body. The injured man reportedly fell to the ground.

The Police responded to the scene and transported the injured man to the hospital, where he received treatment. 

On October 5, 2023, the Police apprehended the teen during a special operation in the Grange Hill Community.

The authorities subsequently charged the teen with wounding with intent.

His court date is pending.
