St Cathrine police arrested and charged Masika with shooting with intent.

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — The St Catherine police said they have arrested and charged Maxan Thompson, o/c ‘Masika,’ age 24, farmer of Cocoa Ridge District, Browns Hall, St Catherine, concerning a shooting incident in Bellas Gate District, St Cathrine, on Monday, April 17, 2023.

According to the Spanish Town police, at about 12:30 pm, on Monday, April 17, 2023, law enforcement officers were on patrol when Thompson opened gunfire at them. The officers took evasive action and escaped injury, and Thompson eluded them. But the police would arrest him during an operation. 

The police subsequently charged Thompson with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

The police are yet to decide on a court date for the accused.

British Man Charged After Being Held With Cocaine At Sangster International

The police reported that they have arrested and charged a 58-year-old British man with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act after they found fifteen pounds of cocaine in his luggage at Sangster International Airport in St. James on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

According to the police, at around 2:30 pm, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the accused checked his luggage at the airport to board a flight to the United Kingdom.

And during a routine search of his luggage, agents found four packages of cocaine with a street value of $3 million concealed in a suitcase.

The police placed him in custody pending further investigations.

The police arrested and charged ‘Pork Face’ for 2021 shooting.

According to the Spanish Town police, a man who shot at the police to prevent them from searching his house in 2021 is now in police custody. The police identified him as Kevin Fletcher o/c ‘Tippy and Pork Face’, age 23.

Fletcher, who has been on the police wanted list since the shooting, was captured by the police in St Ann following the issuance of an arrest warrant.

According to the Spanish Town police, at about 5:15 am on May 29, 2021, law enforcement officers were on patrol near Bennett Lane in Linstead, St Catherine.

Upon entering the premises where the accused resided, he and an accomplice exited, opened fire at the police, and fled the scene.

On Friday, May 5, 2023, the police charged the accused with shooting with intent, illegally possessing a firearm, and unlawfully possessing ammunition.

His court date is pending.

Manchester police charged a carpenter with murder.

The Manchester police reported that they arrested and charged 24-year-old Davion Allen, o/c ‘Little Chubby,’ a carpenter, after allegedly shooting and killing a man and injuring two others during an altercation in Manchester on April 30, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Andrade Hines, o/c ‘Claffy,’ age 38, a construction worker.

The incident occurred on April 30 at a party held at Top Greenvale in Manchester.

According to police reports, at about 12:09 am, April 30, 2023, Allen and Hinds were at a party when an altercation developed between them.

During the altercation, allegedly armed with a handgun, Allen opened gunfire, hitting Hinds and two other patrons.

Patrons alerted the police, and upon their arrival, they rushed the three injured men to the hospital, where Hinds died. The authorities admitted the other two men. 

The police launched an investigation, which led to Allen’s arrest on May 2, 2023. On Thursday, May 4, 2023, the police charged Allen with murder after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

In addition to murder, the police charged Allen with two counts of wounding with intent, possessing a prohibited weapon, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony. 

His court date is pending.
