CLARENDON, Jamaica — The police recovered more than 20 spent shells at the scene of a murder where armed thugs shot a man dead in New Town, Clarendon, at about 1:40 am, on May 6, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Leroy Nelson o/c ‘Ray Ray’, age 33, of Rosehall District in Free Town, Clarendon.
According to the police, at about 1:40 am, May 6, 2023, residents in the community heard loud explosions and summoned the police.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers saw Nelson lying in a pool of blood, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and upper body.
The police rushed Nelson to the May Pen Hospital, where he died. Scene of crime detectives processed the crime scene and recovered 26 spent casings.
Investigators have yet to determine a motive for the shooting or identify any suspects.
Police beefed up presence after thugs killed man in Montpellier shooting spree.
According to the police in Sandy Bay, Hanover, Area One police have beefed up their presence in Sandy Bay after the shooting death of a man by armed thugs who went on a shooting spree in Montpellier on Saturday morning, May 6, 2023.

Preliminary reports indicated that the police could only identify the deceased man by the alias, ‘Tu Pak’, formerly of Barnes Lane in Montpellier, Hanover.
According to the police, at about 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2023, a group of thugs armed with high-powered guns opened fire on several houses in the community, sending occupants scampering for cover.
In addition, the gunmen reportedly set fire to a business establishment and a motor vehicle. Then they went to the deceased man’s home and opened on him-killing him on the spot.
Investigators processed the scene and vowed to maintain a strong presence in the community.

A laborer in a hurry, hurry, ding, ding lost his precious life in a two-vehicle collision in Hart Hill, Portland, at about 8:15 pm on Friday, May 5, 2023.
The police identified the deceased man as Odane Scott, age 28, of Hart Hill, Portland.

According to the police report, Scott was driving a black Toyota Starlet motorcar along the highway in Hart Hill when the vehicle got out of control and collided with a white Toyota Axio motorcar that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The police said Scott got trapped inside his car, and members of the fire department had to extract him from the damaged vehicle.
The police transported both drivers to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where Scott died. The authorities admitted the other driver in serious but stable condition.
The police appealed to motorists to adhere to the speed limit and drive cautiously.
Man Arrested in Connection with Waltham Park Road Gun & Ammo Seizure
The police High Command reported that law enforcement officers seized one firearm and several rounds of ammunition in separate operations in St Andrew on Friday, May 5, 2023.

According to detectives assigned to the Half Way Tree police station in St Andrew, at about 4:30 pm, Friday, May 5, 2023, they seized one firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Waltham Park Road.
The Law enforcement officers conducted an operation in the Waltham Park Road community when they found one 9mm handgun with a magazine containing eighteen 9mm cartridges in a section of a perimeter wall on the premises.
The police said they arrested one man concerning the gun seizure, but they withheld the man’s name pending further investigation.
In a separate incident, a team of law enforcement officers attached to the Hunts Bay Police Station seized several rounds of ammunition in Cockburn Avenue, St Andrew.
The police said that at about 11:25 am, on May 5, 2023, law enforcement officers patrolled the Cockburn Avenue community when eleven 12 gauge cartridges were along the roadway.
The police said they did not make any arrests in connection with the seizure of the ammunition.
