The two Guyanese women held at the Sangster airport for attempting to smuggle 21 pounds of cocaine pleaded guilty when they appeared before the St James Parish Court Friday, April 21, 2023.

The St James Parish Court Judge Sasha-Marie Ashley sentenced Abiki Moses and her cousin Oshaura Moses to 10 months imprisonment at hard labor.
The women pleaded guilty to cocaine-related charges in the St James Parish Court.
Besides the 10-month Mandatory sentence, the judge ordered each woman to pay a fine of $1 million or six months imprisonment for possession of cocaine, and $500,000 or six months imprisonment for attempting to export cocaine.
Law enforcement officers arrested and charged the women on April 4, 2023, at the Sangster International Airport after they tried to board a flight bound for London with cocaine in their suitcase valued over $120 million. Law enforcement officers found the drugs in false compartments in their luggage.
