MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A motorcyclist died from injuries he sustained in a collision along the Content main road in Manchester on Thursday night, April 20, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as Shawn Wallace, age 27, a construction worker and resident of the New Hall district in Manchester.

According to the police report, at about 6:30 pm, April 20, 2023, Wallace, with a pillion on board, was driving his motorcycle along the Content Main road when it got out of control and collided with a truck. The men were reportedly thrown from the vehicle.

Some good Samaritan took the injured men to the hospital, where Wallace died, and the pillion was admitted.

On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, robbers fatally shot two men as they unloaded a delivery truck in Linstead, St Cathrine.

The police identified the deceased as 60-year-old truck driver Ferrol Bedward and 39-year-old laborer Miguel Jarrett, both of Byndloss, Linstead.

It’s reported that at about 3:45 pm, the men were unloading a delivery truck in the community when armed men approached them. 

The robbers shot and killed Bedward and Jarrett, then escaped with an undetermined sum of money. 

The police were alerted. 

The police took the wounded men to the hospital, where the authorities pronounced them dead.
