A top Tivoli gang banger was taken out by unknown assailants.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – According to the Kingston Western police, one of Tivoli Gardens’ top shotta was shot and killed by unknown gunmen in the community on Wednesday, April 05, 2023.

The police identified the deceased as 30-year-old Ryan Bembridge, o/c’ Little Blacks.’ He was a Golden Heights, Kingston 14 resident at the time of his death.

According to reports, Bembridge had been a fixture on the police’s most wanted list. And the police had requested that he turn himself in, but he refused.

Citizens alerted the police of the shooting. Upon arrival, they round Bembridge’s body lying on its left side.

The police said the body had what appeared to be headshot wounds. They processed the scene and removed the body to the hospital, where it was confirmed dead.

The police did not theorize a motive for the killing.

St Elizabeth men charged over a series of house break-ins.

The St Elizabeth police have charged two men they believed are responsible for a series of robberies in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.

The police identified the accused as Jermaine Findley, age 26, and Oshane Brown, age 27. Both men reside in the District of Rocky Hill, St Elizabeth. The police charged both men with larceny, housebreaking, and housebreaking with intent. 

The police report that at about 9 am on Monday, March 29, 2023, a witness saw Findley and Brown entering a locked house through a window. Nobody was home.

The men allegedly stole five pairs of shoes.

Both men then went to another house, where they broke in and stole money and other items.

According to the police, the accused went to a third house, and while breaking in, a witness summoned the police. The police later accosted the men while carrying a bag containing two pairs of shoes and a jar with coins.

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, the police charged both men after a question-and-answer session.

A court date is pending.

Man charged for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman after destroying stall.

Detectives from the Kingston Central police division indicated that they charged a man after allegedly destroying a vendor’s stall and threatening to kill her on Rum Lane, Kingston.

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, Kingston Central detectives charged Tajay Marriott, o/c ‘Balotelli,’ 23, of Rosemary Lane in Kingston, with assault at common law, possessing a prohibited weapon, and using a prohibited weapon to commit an offense.

According to the police, at about 5:20 am on March 26, 2023, Marriott was part of a group of men seen destroying a stall on Rum Lane. The complainant, who owns the stall, approached the group to learn why they targeted her stall. And Marriott allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and threatened to kill the complainant.

The woman left the scene immediately and reported the matter to the police at the Central Police Station.

As a result, the police launched a probe. Finally, on Friday, March 31, 2023, they arrested Marriott. 

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, the police charged Marriott after conducting an interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date has yet to be finalized.

Suspect in the Santa Cruz robbery turns up at hospital with gunshot wound.

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — St Elizabeth police have theorized that a man who showed up at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot may have been one of the five men who robbed a licensed firearm holder at a supermarket in Santa Cruz on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

The police believed the man might have shot himself accidentally during the robbery.

A police source confirmed the incident, reportedly at about 7:30 am.

According to reports, the licensed firearm holder is an employee of the supermarket. The robbers disarmed him and made off with the weapon. Jamaican Gazette understands that the robbers failed to access a safe and reportedly escaped in a Toyota Wish motorcar.

This latest incident follows Wednesday’s attempted robbery by robbers on Beryllium couriers on Bogue Hill near Balaclava in St Elizabeth.
