Giovanni Ellis: Police Named Suspect In Kelsey Ferrigon Murder. The police have identified Giovanni Ellis, also known as ‘Coolie Man,’ as a person of interest in the horrific murder of nine-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon. Her partially nude body was discovered inside a barrel. It was at her home on Job Lane in Spanish Town, St Catherine. This occurred on Friday night, May 9, 2025.
Investigators believe that Ferrigon’s attacker beat and sexually assaulted her. The attacker then murdered her. Afterward, the attacker concealed her body in a barrel within the house. The tragic incident, which occurred around 8:00 p.m., ignited outrage and triggered a comprehensive police investigation.
Wayne Josephs is the Assistant Commissioner of Police and head of the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB). He has stated that law enforcement is dedicated to pursuing all possible leads. These efforts aim to apprehend Giovanni Ellis. He urged Ellis to report to the Spanish Town Police promptly.
“The brutal assault and murder of Kelsey Ferrigon have sent shock waves through our entire force. I am sure it has also affected all of Jamaica,” ACP Josephs said in a statement issued on Saturday, one day after the incident..
“We are using every resource at our disposal. Our investigators, forensic teams, and intelligence networks are working relentlessly. They aim to pursue and capture the monster responsible for this act. We owe it to Kelsey, her family, and every child in Jamaica to bring this individual to justice swiftly.”
