Haitian Man Faces Serious Crimes In Alleged Kidnapping Case. Detectives in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica, have charged a Haitian man with rape, forcible abduction, grievous sexual assault, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The charges stemmed from a kidnapping incident that occurred in St. James between April 16 and 17, 2025.

Law enforcement identified the accused as Ezaie Simon. He is from Dame Marie, Haiti.

The Montego Bay police said Simon and other men forcibly took a woman from her relative’s house.

Then, they reportedly brought her to bushes in a nearby community, where Simon allegedly beat and sexually assaulted her.

After beating and assaulting the woman, Simon reportedly called her relative and demanded $500,000 for her return.

The police said Simon released the woman at about 8:00 p.m. on April 18, 2025

The complainant reported the crime to the police, who launched an investigation that led to Simon’s arrest on April 25.

Investigators officially charged him on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, after the complainant positively pointed him out at an ID parade.

Law enforcement has yet to decide on a court date for Simon.

Police constable charged with illegal gun and ammunition.

Detectives assigned to the Kingston Western Division, Jamaica, have formally charged a police constable. Cops held the constable with an illegal gun on April 26, 2025, during an operation.

The police identified the accused as Shamar White, 28, a police Constable assigned to the St. Mary Police Division.

White faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Detectives charged Constable White, who resides in Denham Town, West Kingston, after the Director of Public Prosecutions ruled.

Investigators say that at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, the police conducted mobile patrol duties in the Denham Town community.

During the patrol, officers observed a Toyota Mark X motor car being driven dangerously and recklessly along Race Course Lane.

The police signaled the driver to stop, but he disobeyed and sped off.

As a result, the police gave chase and intercepted the vehicle near Regent Street and North Street in Denham Town.

The accused and two other men were the occupants.

Law enforcement searched the men. During the search, the officers seized a Smith & Wesson pistol. It was loaded with a magazine containing 12 rounds. They found it in the suspect’s waistband.

The accused identified himself as a member of the JCF but failed to give a proper account of the firearm.

As a result, law enforcement arrested him.

White’s court appearance date is pending.
