Meanwhile, Acting Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, head of the Area 4 Police, has issued a warning. He urged gang leaders and wanted fugitives to cooperate with the police. They should avoid engaging in confrontations with law enforcement.
He said the police are determined to dismantle gangs as part of its anti-crime strategy.
“We want gangsters to know we know who they are. We know what they are doing. We will use the law to disrupt their illegal activities. We will adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward them. Unfortunately, the year has not started well concerning the number of violent crimes we are witnessing. Our investigations have shown that gangs are responsible for the current high crime wave across Area 4. He pleaded, “I urge the gang members to surrender. Do not resist in any way if we come to arrest them.”
