Gun Violence Report: Three Dead and one injured. Law enforcement confirmed the death of three men found with gunshot wounds in Central Village, St Catherine, on Wednesday night. Also, gunmen shot and injured a taxi driver in Port Maria, St Mary.

The authorities said the deceased men were residents of Central Village. Mathew Smith, also known as ‘Cool Jay,’ was 20 years old and from Thomas Lane. Giovanni Ferguson, referred to as ‘Gio,’ was from McBride Hill. Jahiem Ferguson, also called ‘JayJay,’ was also from McBride Hill.

Gun violence report. Reports indicated that at about 9:45 pm, residents of McBride Hill reportedly heard a barrage of gunshots.

When the gunfire ceased, they found the lifeless bodies of three young men with gunshot wounds.

As a result, the residents summoned the police to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the body of Smith outside a residential home. He was seated and had gunshot wounds to his face and upper body. Inside the house, they found Jahiem Ferguson’s body on its back. There were gunshot wounds to the chest and head.

Additionally, the officers located Giovanni Ferguson’s body in another room, lying on his side with gunshot wounds to his body.

Initial investigations by the police suggest that the deceased men were involved in a shootout. The investigations are ongoing.

Police reports indicate that the incident occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. The taxi driver picked up a passenger along the Free Hill main road and stopped to collect another passenger shortly afterward.

While picking up the second passenger, loud explosions were heard.

Moments later, a green motorcar approached.

A male occupant of the vehicle was seen firing several shots. The shots were directed in the direction of the taxi.

The taxi driver sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body. He managed to drive to safety. The Police assisted him.

No one else was injured during the incident.

Anthony Wallace, Acting Superintendent of Police for the St Mary Division, said the Police are actively investigating the shooting.

Wallace reassured residents that the Police would use everything to ensure their safety.

The senior crime fighter said the Police are using patrols and operations to address concerns and maintain public order.
