P M Holness: Admitted Government has not performed well

Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness blamed Jamaica's deplorable road condition on climate change.

P M Holness: Admitted Government has not performed well. Jamaica Labor Party (JLP) leader Prime Minister Andrew Holness finally admits that some Government parliamentarians are not up to speed with the job.

According to the PM Holness, a Jamaica Labor Party’s internal poll revealed the shocking news.

But, P M did not need any more polls to tell him that the Jamaican people were unhappy with the Government. They have been screaming those sentiments for months, perhaps years, and he refused to listen.

Mr. Holness is noticeably unhinged over Don Anderson’s poll, which shows Mark Golding and the PNP leading. So, after a series of unsuccessful mudslinging, he has decided to face reality and look within.

P M Holness came full circle while speaking at Sunday’s St Ann North Western constituency conference. He told Laborites that the public wants their representatives to be available, responsive, caring, and respectful.

He said the party has started taking action internally.

Still, it is difficult not to think the P M Holness is a Three Card Man. He had the information for years and did nothing, but now that an election is imminent, he decided to act.

PM Holness Narrowed the Party’s problems to Parliamentarians and Councilors

“Some of the MPs (members of parliament) and caretakers that we have seen are falling short, we have called them in. We have started conversing with them about improving their service,” said Holness.

PM Holness indicated that the problem extends beyond MPs. Councilors needed to maintain a solid connection with constituents.

“We have seen a high level of frustration, not just with constituents but with workers and supporters, so the party must address that systematically. So, you’re going to see greater efforts, and you’re going to see us making contact with you directly from party central through your MPs,” Holness said.

He said that, after being in power for eight years, many supporters have grievances because they believe they are not benefiting from the Government.

“As that grievance festers, you give opportunity for a populist Opposition to come and say, ‘I’m going to fix it. I will take care of you. Because that’s all populism is – taking advantage of grievance,” Holness said.

P M Holness and the Jamaica Labor Party call the truth populism. He forgot that, as Opposition leader, he had risen to power by promising the Jamaican people pie in the sky.

He promised the people that only he could fix crime, and people would sleep with open windows and doors.

After eight years, the P M Holness has yet to fulfill one promise. Still, he is back making promises again. Instead of running on achievements, the Prime Minister and the Jamaica Labor Party promised to do better. But a promise is comfort for fools.

“We will do better in your interest. As your leader, I am going to ensure that our representatives give a higher standard of service,” he said.

Essentially, the P M Holness and the Jamaica Labor Party asked the people to give them another chance after doing nothing for eight years.
