Crime and Violence Report: The St Andrew South police are probing the fatal shooting of a man at a car wash on Henderson Avenue on Sunday.

Authorities identified the deceased as old Damion Smith, 45, a truck driver from Nannyville Gardens in St Andrew.

According to reports, at about 12:15 p.m., Smith was sitting at the car wash on Henderson Avenue in St Andrew.

Men armed with guns approached him and opened gunfire, killing him on the spot.

Investigators have yet to establish a motive for the senseless murder. 

Police from the Olympic Gardens Criminal Investigation Branch are probing the matter.

Detectives assigned to the Maggotty PD in St Elizabeth are searching for suspects who allegedly shot and killed a man during a robbery at a supermarket in Maggotty.

The victim of the latest crime and violence is Aggrey Atkinson, 62, from Russell in Balaclava, St. Elizabeth.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that at about 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, Atkinson was at the supermarket in question.

Men armed with guns entered the premises, shot Atkinson, and proceeded to rob the establishment.

Good Samaritans swiftly transported Atkinson to the Black River Hospital, but it was too late to save him.

However, hospital officials pronounced him dead on arrival. 

The Maggotty Criminal Investigation Branch is undertaking an investigation.

ST ANN, police charged a suspect who allegedly kicked in a woman’s door and attacked her with a knife. Police said the incident occurred in Farm Town, Discovery Bay, St Ann, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

The police charged Kemar York, 38, a laborer from Landlewy in St Thomas, with burglary and wounding with intent.

The Discovery Bay police said at around 3:25 a.m. on the day of the incident, a woman was at home when she heard sounds coming from her front door.

She went to investigate and reportedly saw York, whom she knew.

Reportedly, York allegedly kicked the door open and attacked the woman, stabbing her in the thigh with a knife.

The complainant allegedly called out for help, and residents accosted York and alerted law enforcement.

Upon arrival, the police transported York and the woman to the hospital, where the staff treated and released them.

Law enforcement later arrested and charged York. His court appearance date is pending.
