Cops Charged a Married Couple With Theft $2 Million. Cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, have charged a couple in connection with the alleged theft of over $2 million. The couple allegedly stole the money from an establishment in Old Harbor, where the wife works as the branch manager. According to a statement issued on Sunday, the woman reportedly admitted to diverting the funds to help with family-related emergencies.

An off-duty police officer allegedly shot and killed a suspect at an event in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Sunday night.

Authorities identified the deceased identified as Vivian Francis, 34, a Jamaican of a New Jersey, USA address.

According to police reports, at about 10:10 p.m., the cop was at an event at the Ewarton Sports Complex. And he and Francis got embroiled in a verbal exchange.

During the argument, Francis reportedly became irate and overturned a table. Then, he allegedly pulled a knife from his waistband and lunged at the policeman.

Reportedly, the cop pulled his service firearm and shouted, “Police drop the knife.”

Francis did not comply. Instead, he allegedly advanced at the policeman, who opened fire, hitting him.

Francis later succumbed to his injuries at the Linstead Hospital.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has initiated a probe into the unfortunate shooting.

Unknown assailants shot and killed a pedal cyclist along Nugent Street in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Monday morning.

Law enforcement identified the deceased Gary Shaw, 44, a kitchen attendant of Old Harbor Road in St Catherine.

According to the police Communications Unit, at about 6:00 a.m., residents stumbled upon Shaw’s body on Nugent Street and summoned the police.

Upon arrival, the police found Shaw’s body beside his bicycle, with gunshot wounds to his upper chest.

Hospital officials pronounced Shaw dead on arrival.

The Spanish Town police are working to establish a motive and apprehend the culprits.

According to reports, two armed men attacked, shot and killed a man on the compound of the Rousseau Primary School in Kingston on Monday afternoon.

The man who is not yet identified had reportedly gone to the school to pick up a child.

According to a police source, the man was waiting to pick up his son when two armed men attacked him.

The gunmen reportedly opened gunfire, hitting the man in the head in full view of his son before escaping.

The St Andrew South police are investigating.
