Murder Charges for Men Who Set Victim on Fire.

Cops Charged a Married Couple With Theft $2 Million. Cops in St. Catherine, Jamaica, have charged a couple in connection with the alleged theft of over $2 million. The couple allegedly stole the money from an establishment in Old Harbor, where the wife works as the branch manager. According to a statement issued on Sunday, the woman reportedly admitted to diverting the funds to help with family-related emergencies.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police charged two men who allegedly set a man on fire after dousing him with gasoline. The accused reportedly committed the brutal crime during a verbal dispute at a bar in the Glen Drive community.

The authorities identified the deceased as 34-year-old Kemar Smith of Glen Drive, Kingston 8.

Charged with murder are 57-year-old Garnet Dale, o/c Lazarus,’ a security guard, and 42-year-old Kemar Wilson, both of the community.

According to reports, at about 9:00 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024, Smith got embroiled in a dispute with another person.

During the dispute, Dale and Wilson allegedly attacked Smith. Then, they doused him with gasoline and set him ablaze.

Smith reportedly removed his clothing and jumped into a water container to extinguish the flames.

He then allegedly ran to the station with severe burns all over his body.

The police assisted Smith to the hospital, where the authorities admitted him in a serious but stable condition.

Sadly, on Tuesday, May 2, hospital officials pronounced Smith dead after succumbing to his injuries.

Investigators formally charged Dale and Wilson on Friday, October 11. Their court appearance is pending.

Police in Westmoreland, Jamaica, have indicted two teenagers in connection with the alleged robbery of a complainant. Reportedly, the robbery unfolded along the Heavy Sand main road in Whithorn on Friday, October 4. The teens allegedly made off with the complainant’s iPhone 16 Pro Max and cash totaling $200,000.

Investigators have withheld the identities of the teenagers. The authorities have formally charged them with robbery with aggravation in connection to the incident.

According to reports, at approximately 7:00 PM, the complainant was walking along the roadway. The two teens whom he knew allegedly approached him, one armed with a machete, the other with a knife.

Reportedly, the teenagers proceeded to rob the complainant of his phone and cash before fleeing on foot into the community.

The victim filed a formal report with the police, who initiated an investigation. Then, officers accompanied the complainant to the residents of the teenagers, where they were positively identified.

Investigators arrested and charged both teens. Their court appearance date is pending.

A tire repairman from Sandy Bay, Hanover, has been formally charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and robbery with violence. The charges arise from an incident on Friday during which he allegedly assaulted a woman in her residence. Then, he later fled with her purse.

The individual has been identified as 30-year-old Ian Buchanan.

According to law enforcement authorities, at approximately 1:26 PM, Buchanan visited the woman’s home. When the complainant requested that Buchanan leave, he refused to comply.

An argument reportedly ensued, during which Buchanan allegedly struck the woman multiple times, resulting in bruising and swelling on her body.

It is further alleged that he then stole the woman’s bag, which contained cash and various personal items.

The complainant filed a formal report with the police. Later, law enforcement arrested Buchanan. They formally charged him after being identified by the victim. His court appearance date is pending.
