Investigation Into JDF Private Ejay Domville’s Death in Kingston, Jamaica

KINGSTON WESTERN, Jamaica: Law enforcement officials need to come clean and tell the Jamaican people the truth about who shot and killed Jamaica Defense Force Private Ejay Domville.

Whispers in the public suggest private Domville have met his demise from friendly fire.

But the authorities said Private Domville was shot and killed in an alleged confrontation with armed men in the Charles Street and Chestnut Lane area. The incident occurred on August 23, 2024, the authorities said.

The police said Domville was among a group of soldiers on foot patrol duties inside the Zone of Special Operations (ZOSO) in Denham Town, West Kingston.

The soldiers saw a group of suspicious-looking men and pursued them.

The soldiers went in pursuit of the men, and the men opened gunfire at them.

The soldiers reportedly took evasive action and returned the fire, and a gun battle ensued.

When the shooting ceased, colleagues found Domville suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Hospital officials pronounced Domville dead.

On the other hand, Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps told Radio Jamaica News that investigators are seeking two residents from the Chestnut Lane community for questioning.

They are Shakeem Gray and another man who goes by the alias “Chubby” or “Chubs.”

The police charged Sidonia Armsby, 49, of Clifton district in St Catherine, with assault at common law.

Portmore police alleged that at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, Armsby and a man broke into a dispute.

The dispute turned physical, and Armsby allegedly attacked the complainant with an ice pick.

Fortunately, the man escaped without injury.

The complainant reported the incident to the police, who launched an investigation.

The police arrested and charged Armsby on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Her court date is pending.
