Authorities are actively pursuing the prosecution of traffic violations captured on camera.
The head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie, has said that a system to organize information from traffic enforcement cameras is in the works. This system will make it easier for the police to deal with motorists who break traffic laws.

Installing traffic enforcement cameras across Jamaica was meant to help enforce road safety laws. However, there have been challenges in law enforcement using cameras effectively. Despite this, efforts are being made to improve the coordination of these cameras to enhance road safety and police efficiency.
McKenzie highlighted the importance of effectively using the captured data to prosecute offenders and make the roads safer. The potential impact of traffic enforcement cameras on road safety is considered significant, and there are ongoing efforts to address the coordination of this technology.
