Four individuals were fatally shot by police during a downtown Kingston confrontation.

Fatal Police Raid: Cops Killed Elbow Gang Leader Corey Rowe. Early Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, the security forces reportedly fatally wounded a suspect. They believed this suspect was the alleged leader of the Elbow Gang. This gang operates in Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica.

A tragic incident unfolded in downtown Kingston on Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, as law enforcement officers engaged in a confrontation that resulted in the fatal shooting of four suspects, including a 17-year-old boy. Additionally, five firearms, including two M16 rifles, were seized during the operation. Regrettably, one police officer was also wounded in the exchange of gunfire.

Superintendent Beresford Williams, commanding officer for the Kingston Central police division, reported that the incident occurred after 1:00 a.m. when the officers, patrolling along Orange Street, heard gunshots.

Promptly responding to the situation, the police found themselves under heavy gunfire from individuals in a Toyota Isis motor car. A pursuit ensued, leading to the gunmen’s vehicle crashing along King Street near Charles Street. Subsequently, approximately six men exited the vehicle and engaged the police in a violent exchange of gunfire, resulting in the incapacitation of three individuals.

During the search of the vehicle, law enforcement officials discovered two M16 rifles. Furthermore, as additional support arrived, a fourth body was found at the end of a trail of blood in the area.

In the course of their efforts, law enforcement officers confronted a fifth suspect who opened fire, injuring an officer before fleeing the scene. A colleague promptly took the wounded officer to the hospital. His condition is currently not deemed serious.

Law enforcement operations have escalated in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, due to a spike in gang-related violence. In a recent incident, a 28-year-old man was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with police on Wednesday morning.

The individual, Pete Bowen, known as ‘Tell Lie’, resided in the Sterling district of Grange Hill. Police arrived at approximately 5:15 a.m. to execute a warrant for Mr. Bowen, who was sought for questioning.

Police encircled his one-bedroom home and demanded his surrender. It is reported that the man fired upon the officers, who responded with gunfire, resulting in his injury. A .38 caliber pistol was retrieved from the scene by the authorities. The man was later declared dead by medical personnel.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has initiated an investigation into the shooting incident.

Early on Wednesday morning, a well-known taxi operator, known by the aliases ‘Banky’ and ‘Crocs’, was fatally shot in the community of Rocky Valley in Stony Hill, St Andrew. The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. as the victim prepared to start his work. Sadly, he sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.

The shocking event has left the community in distress, with residents awakening to the sound of gunfire and promptly alerting the authorities. Regrettably, this marks the third murder in the section of the St Andrew North police division in the past five days. The recent surge in violence includes fatal shootings in Temple Hall on Saturday morning and Golden Spring Square later that same night.

The authorities have commenced an investigation into these tragic and senseless attacks, with the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch taking the lead.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a farmer was found deceased in a pig pen in Hanover.

HANOVER, Jamaica—An investigation has been launched by the police following the tragic shooting death of a farmer discovered in a pig pen at Fish River Road in Logwood district, Hanover, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

The deceased, 25-year-old Jamar Miles, also known as ‘Buss Head,’ was found by local residents who instigated a search after he was reported missing.

According to reports, Miles left his residence around 6:00 a.m. to attend to his animals on a nearby farm. Shortly after that, residents heard gunshots but failed to alert the authorities.

Upon realizing his phone was going unanswered and he had not returned home, his girlfriend became concerned.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., concerned residents went to Miles’ pig farm and discovered his lifeless body lying facedown in one of the pig pens.

The police were then summoned, and upon arrival, found Miles in a pool of blood, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and a pair of water boots. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Subsequently, Miles was transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.

More than 15 spent casings were recovered from the scene by the police.

The authorities have not yet been able to ascertain a motive behind this tragic incident.
