Police Seek Gunmen After Robbery and Crash

The St Andrew Central police are currently in pursuit of gunmen who crashed into a concrete wall along Lady Musgrave Road following a robbery on Friday morning, April 5, 2024.

Authorities have reported the recovery of a Smith and Wesson revolver with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition from the vehicle.

Police responded to reports of a robbery along Lady Musgrave Road in St Andrew around 4 a.m. The officers engaged in the pursuit, but the perpetrators crashed their vehicle into a concrete wall and fled the scene, abandoning the weapon inside the car.

Investigations are ongoing.

The St Elizabeth Police have pressed charges against a mother and daughter suspected of the murder of Francois Vassell, a 23-year-old farmer from Roses Valley district in St Elizabeth, on Monday, April 1, 2024.

The individuals in question are 24-year-old Amanda Stewart and 43-year-old Lisa Muir, both residents of the Roses Valley district in St Elizabeth.

According to authorities, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Vassell and Stewart became involved in a dispute that quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

Subsequently, Stewart’s mother, Lisa Muir, reportedly armed herself with a machete and joined the altercation.

During the altercation, Vassell sustained multiple chop wounds, ultimately resulting in his passing.

The suspects await their court appearance date.

Two individuals have been charged in connection to a firearm incident that took place on Christmas Day in Old Harbour Bay.

Two suspects have been formally charged by the police in connection with a gun attack that took place on Christmas Day 2023. The incident occurred along a dirt track in Burkesfield Meadows, Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine.

The authorities have named the accused 28-year-old Sheldon Brown, also known as ‘Twelve,’ of Terminal Road in the parish, and 20-year-old Gregory Henry of Wildman Town, Portland Cottage, Clarendon.

Both accused individuals have been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and association with a criminal organization.

According to the Old Harbour Bay police, the attack took place around midnight when Brown, Henry, and two other armed men ambushed a man along a dirt track in the community. They opened fire, causing the victim to sustain an abdominal injury, before fleeing the scene on foot.

The injured man was promptly transported to the hospital by law enforcement officers and received the necessary medical treatment. Subsequently, the police initiated an investigation, leading to Brown and Henry’s voluntary surrender in their legal representative’s presence.

The police formally charged the accused on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Their court appearance date is pending.

ST ANN, Jamaica — On Friday morning, April 5, 2024, three individuals were hospitalized after a collision in Runaway Bay, St Ann, near the Bahia Principe hotel.

The incident reportedly involved a blue tour bus and a white Probox motor car. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the collision.

Footage circulating depicts extensive damage to the Probox, while the bus also sustained front-end damage.

This collision occurred just days after another tragic accident on the Dunn’s River main road, which resulted in the loss of three lives.

Additionally, two other accidents occurred in Fern Gully the same week. One of these accidents tragically led to the death of a woman and injuries to several individuals, including children. Our thoughts are with all those affected by these distressing events.
